Varroa treatment: new Apivar® formats and new pre-cut design

Table of contents

Apivar is a veterinary medicine against Varroa destructor based on amitraz. It comes in the form of plastic strips to be inserted into the hive. Easy to use, Apivar requires only a single application and can be used without temperature constraints.

In 2026, Apivar is evolving to meet beekeeper’s needs even better. With its new formats and new pre-cut system, Apivar strips now adapt to , whether professional or hobbyist.

Formats suited to all operation sizes

Apivar® is now available in 4-strip, 12-strip and 60-strip packs offering flexibility for beekeepers with small apiaries! No more strip waste!

New pre-cut system between strips

The cutting system between strips has also been redesigned. Instead of the traditional perforations, the strips are now connected by a single, thin pre-cut line.

Easier identification: spot your strips at a glance

To avoid any confusion, each Apivar strip is now embossed with its name directly onto the plastic. A simple and practical solution for quick identification in the hive.
